UCL has trial access to  Global Health  until 5th November 2018. Global Health  is a specialist bibliographic abstracting and indexing database dedicated to public health and completing the picture of international medical and health research. Derived from over 7,000 journals, reports, books and conferences, Global Health contains over 3 million scientific records from 1973 to the present. Publications from over 100 countries in 50 languages are abstracted, and all relevant non-English-language papers are translated. The database’s open serials policy and coverage of international and grey literature means that 40% of material contained in Global Health is unique to the database. Everything from proceedings, theses, electronic-only publications and other hard-to-find sources are included. Global Health has a growing number of full text articles (over 90,000) from journals, conferences, and reports. Please send feedback on this resource to  h.chesters@ucl.ac.uk.

The UCL  Great Ormond Street institute of Child health Library got gold at the UCL Sustainability award 2018.   The award is a    Blue Planet 2  inspired Sustainability Awards trophy. Artist Joanna Atherton created these sculptures out of plastics found during beach cleans. This can been admired in our glass cabinet at the entrance of our library. 

Please note: eShelf/Favourites functionality in Explore ( http://ucl.ac.uk/library/explore ) will be changing over the summer, due to an upgrade, and current lists will be reset.  If you wish to keep your eShelf/Favourites records, please export them from Explore by Friday 17 August by following the steps outlined here  https://www.ucl.ac.uk/library/articles/2018/explore-eshelf-favourites-changes    If you have any questions, please contact  library@ucl.ac.uk  

The MetaLib service will be replaced at the end of August 2018. More information is provided below. ‘Find Resource’ will be replaced by a new service at the same location, the  Databases  page. ‘Find e-Journal’ will be replaced by a new service within Explore. ‘QuickSearch’/’ExpertSearch’ will not be part of the new service, as this technology has been superseded. Library Services' advice is either to use  Explore , for searching across a range of data sources with relevance ranking, or to consult  subject guides  or your Subject Liaison Librarian named there, for relevant data sources for your needs. ‘MyMetaLib’ will not be replaced.  Please make a note of any resources you have bookmarked , in order to locate them through the new service in August. If you have scheduled searches, you may be able to replicate such alerting in individual databases.

Please note that due to our library system migration there will be  no new ILL requests possible from the 10th August until 30th August . We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. 

STAMPS FOR CHARITY Donate your Foreign and British stamp to RNIB We can raise money from both British and overseas stamps. It doesn't matter if they have already been used, or if they are first or second class - we can collect enough of them to raise money for RNIB! Please cut the stamp off the envelope - When cutting, leave approximately 1cm of envelope bordering each stamp.
