Sally Hernando Awards for Innovation

We are pleased to announce that  during the recent judging of the Sally Hernando Awards for Innovation in NHS Library and Knowledge Services for 2014-15, three of our submissions were commended for good/best practice. Our successful submissions, entered by Grazia Manzotti, were:

1) ICH Library App
Our free app was judged to be an innovation. The free app for smartphones and tablets that delivers an up to date and growing list of trusted and relevant medical apps and mobile resources right at your fingertips. The app has been created by ICH Library staff - see http://gosh-lib.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/library-app.html

2) New Library webpage on Mobile Resources and Apps
This submission was judged to be a marketing initiative to be shared. The ICH Library website now contains details of a wide range of mobile apps and resources that are available to NHS  users.
The list covers a range of important mobile resources including Medical Databases, Medical Journals, Clinical information, NICE/BMJ guidance and General Library Apps. Details of each app are provided along with  availability and links to downloads and further information. 3) Dynamed
This submission was judged to be a product initiative to be shared. We set up access so that GOSH users now have access to DynaMed, the most current evidence-based clinical information solution, via their NHS Athens account (see http://gosh-lib.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/we-are-pleased-to-announce-that-nhs.html for more details). DynaMed provides clinicians with current, unbiased and relevant clinical information allowing physicians to make the best possible decisions for their patients. DynaMed is also available as an app for iOS and Android mobile devices. Click below to find out more information- http://gosh-lib.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/dynamed-app.htm

The judging panel comprises a number of SHA Library Leads and Library Service Managers, and competition for these awards is very high.
